About the Role:

Wing is looking for a Field Quality Engineer to join our Quality Engineering Team based in Dallas, Texas. The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated and highly disciplined person who enjoys working in a fast paced and highly dynamic team environment. The successful candidate is able to demonstrate solid records and experience in field quality, production quality, hardware failure analysis and project management. This candidate should be a team player working with reliability, hardware, mechanical engineering and other teams, is able to drive field quality / reliability issue resolution and effectively communicate to management, cross functional teams, as well as Contract Manufacturer(s) (CM). 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Travel to different sites / nests on regular basis, collecting data from field & flight operations for analysis, feedback to Wing headquarters and CM as applicable being the 1st defense line of field quality issues
  • Work with reliability team, hardware engineering, and other teams for field failure analysis
  • Drive RCCA corresponding to field failures
  • Partner with Wing cross functional teams to identify trend and report field quality performance
  • Manage CM’s assembly line qualifications, day to day production quality performance, and drive continuous improvement activities
  • Identify, record, and report any problems from the CM, and drive RCCA till closure
  • Responsible for setting and executing advanced quality plans including incoming, in process and outgoing quality checks
  • Work with FAA to achieve Part 21 certification (production certification), create the quality documentation as needed and implement at production sites
  • Define and review specification requirements for fit, function, and reliability by working together with Wing Mechanical Engineering, Hardware Engineering and Reliability team
  • Coordinate with contributing groups to ensure updates are processed on schedule
  • Work with massive amounts of data and measure quality
  • Perform components, airframes and / or airplanes incoming inspection as well as aircraft final inspection
  • Audit and support functions on RCCA's, SCAR's and Internal Audits
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions to non-compliance identified during the audit

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in quality / reliability engineering role, take care of the field quality and / or the product quality 
  • Strong analytical skills and project management skills
  • Familiar with IPC-A-610 and other PCBA related IPC standards
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with cross functional teams and management
  • Strong manufacturing including SMT background in developing robust and repeatable processes to scale new products, including process qualification, process quality control and  line qualification
  • Expert in driving engineering requirements, and continuous quality improvement at contract manufacturers
  • Capable of assessing bandwidth and resourcing 
  • Experience of using statistical analysis software such as JMP /  Minitab, and Six Sigma project experience

Bonus: 

  • Experience in field quality and / or manufacturing environment, especially aviation products
  • Experience with the quality / Reliability and regulatory compliance modules in Agile.
  • American Society for Quality certification preferred (CQE, CRE, CQM or CQA)
  • Familiar with AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949
  • Understanding GD&T, tolerance stack up and design
  • Experience with mechanical systems, injection molding, machining and casting
  • Set up SPC, CP and CPK
  • Familiar with DOE, statistical analysis and using statistical tools 
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin

The US base salary range for this full-time position is the salary range below + bonus + equity + benefits. Wing’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.

$126,000$141,000 USD
